Your $0.26/kWh rate starts on day one

From the moment your system is active, you pay the flat $0.26/kWh for the solar and battery energy your Pi system provides. During an initial energy-profiling period (currently around 90 days) — before your battery is onboarded to Pi's virtual power plant — any extra power you draw from the gridis still billed by your current retailer at their normal rates, so you'll keep receiving a retailer bill. With your solar and battery already working, that grid top-up should be small. Once VPP onboarding is complete, Pi advises you and all your energy is on the flat $0.26/kWh rate.

*No-cost refers to solar & battery equipment and installation — Pi owns and maintains all equipment. The site inspection fee (normally $297) is currently waived during the pilot, until 31 August 2026. If the inspection identifies required property upgrades (e.g. switchboard, wiring or structural work), these are quoted and payable as an additional cost prior to installation, and you retain the right to withdraw.
